Pico de Gallo (Mexican Tomato Salad)

Another Mexican favourite is definitely Pico de Gallo or Salsa Bandera. It is such a refreshing dish, full of nice and fresh flavours!

It can be use as a side dish or as a nibble or just as a snack with some cold beers.
I am sure that you can find this recipe almost in every Mexican recipe blog or book, so I have to have it in mine.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium tomatoes or 15 cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 onion
  • 3 tbs fresh coriander
  • 1 lime
  • 1 fresh jalapeño chilli
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Chop the tomatoes, onion, coriander and jalapeño very finely, put them in a bowl, squeeze the whole or half of the lime, add some salt to taste.
  2. Enjoy this tasty salsa or salad with friends!
