I started to cook Mexican food in London as a necessity, because when I first arrived here, Mexican food wasn’t as good as it is now and thanks to my lovely father, who was an excellent cook, I had good cooking skills. My father always encouraged us to cook or learned about food and he would always make us eat everything, when I said everything I’m talking about eating “tacos de moronga” (clogged blood tacos) when I was only 7 years old, because, according to him and my mum, they were full of nutrients!
I love cooking, I cook all type of food, but my passion is Mexican and when I am not cooking I like to go out and eat to restaurants, I am crazy about oysters and steaks!
Another thing my family and I love to do is travelling, we tent to travel twice a year, we spend every summer in Mexico and we go and explore places, I enjoy seeing our children playing at the beach with their cousins in Ensenada.
Then in 2015, I opened an Instagram account and started to put pictures of the food I cooked at home, lovely people started to follow me and asking me for the recipes, so what started as a hobby gave birth to this blog and I see it as something very special, because I can show people the richness of our Mexican gastronomy and more!
Also I think it is a very good way to demonstrate that you don’t have to be a chef or go to a restaurant to enjoy excellent Mexican food in the UK. Here in Mexican Food Memories you will find the recipes I grew up with in Mexico, I cook traditional recipes for busy working people, like me, a 24/7 mum that runs around literally all day with her children.
So come and join the Mexican food memories adventures and soon you will find yourself cooking some traditional homemade Mexican food recipes to your family and friends.
